Algebra 1 Courses: 2007-2010 and then again 2014-17. Classroom environments included honors, college prep (grade level content for a diverse group of students) and contained special education (students with math and/or language based disabilities).
Algebra 2 Courses: 2010-11 and then again 2017-18, at the college prep level both times.
Algebra courses build on many ideas from previous courses but I strive to meet students where they are. Some students start with concrete representations of variables while others are ready to jump into abstractions. All students learn to solve problems in context, interpret situations mathematically and check their answers for reasonability.
